I read once that Aphex Twin does (did) this. so I gave it a crack and god damn does it make a huge difference.

these are crappy monitors. they still work fine but theyre no good for reference. so I use them for DJing.

having them hanging at ear level I can hear everything and dont need to have them cranked because the sound is right there, and its so clear. its like wearing a pair of open headphones.

Im sold.

some of you may be aware but most not, Ive been producing for a number of years now under another alias. yes, I have my own counterpart.

he goes by the name - man of pipes. theres a story behind the name which he may tell one day but hes a bit of a quiet bloke, so I have to do the talking for him.

anyway he got off his ass recently after some serious inspiration and started finishing the plethora of tunas hes been sitting on for decades, because he had no idea how to get it to sound right; and still doesnt.

but he thought 'f*ck it. kets go'.

he'll be playing an entire album of unreleased stuff on 3D radio in a few weeks just to add to the pressure (tOASt is 3 days later), on the 24th of this month.

heres a sneak peak.

oh, and if you know anyone that wants to mix and master his album in exchange for some organic potatoes and citrus, hes all ears.

damn. I just woke up from a dream where I was a psytrance DJ.

nothing against psy, but I was so bored! I was just standing there waiting for something to do. I felt like I had to touch things for no reason... waiting.
