Dear SLEA Patrons,

I am reaching out to let you know that I’ve started a fundraiser to help Colombo North Teaching Hospital (Ragama) in Sri Lanka, to purchase medical equipment to aid in the fight against COVID. On May 06th 2021 both my parents were admitted to Ragama Hospital after contracting COVID and unfortunately my mother lost the battle against COVID on the 14th of May 2021.

I am confident with your humble support and blessings; we can help those who are in dire need of life saving medical care in their battle against COVID. The key to making this project successful is sharing the fundraiser page and most importantly inviting your facebook friends through the fundraiser page. Our project team believes inviting all of your facebook friends could be even much more effective than a donation as we try to get a maximum audience reach. So far, most donations are from friends of donors or through invitations. We hope you can take little bit of time to invite all your friends and ask them if they can kindly invite their Facebook friends’ list too.

I am humbly asking you to help us in any way you can by donating or spreading the kind word to heal humanity in this hour of extreme urgency.

A true lover, who loves his music and his passion for singing has reached a milestone in his own agenda.

It's a proud moment for Amaresh Fernandopulle as he releases his first solo song.

Amaresh has been known as a drummer than a singer for Sri Lankan community in Adelaide. He has come a long way as a drummer with the Adelaide based band ASHRA and he was the first drummer when the band was formed.

HARSHINI NEEDS YOUR HELP

Harshani Nawarathna came to Australia with so much hopes and dreams, she completed her Diploma of Biomedical Science and was elected by Swinburne University to pursue her Graduate study to complete the degree which she could not continue due to her condition. In 2004 she was diagnosed with Dawson Disease medically known as subacute scierosing panencephalitis (SSPE) and she had to return to Sri Lanka to seek medical treatment as her Overseas Student Health Insurance did not cover her for all medical expenses.

Since her return, her condition deteriorated rapidly and she is bedridden for the past 12 years. Her parents have retired from the workforce in order to support and care for their only child.

Having gone through 12 years of medical expenses her parents had to mortgage their family home and are currently struggling to keep up with the ongoing expenses and have reached out for help.

With your kindness and prayers, the family will be able to see a glimpse of light during this difficult times and allows them to cherish every moment they have with Harshini. Your kindness will be much appreciated.
