Thank you to all those who attended our Citizen Science Awards night!

Congratulations to this year's winner, Phytoplankton of South Australia and runner up, ISPYthon by the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board.

Citizen science is a way for anyone with a curious mind to become involved in science and these awards acknowledge the amazing contributions that everyday people can make.

The winner of this year’s Citizen Science Awards is Phytoplankton of South Australia. We them for their incredible contributions to our knowledge of the harmful algal bloom and the impact it has had on the environment, wildlife and people.

We also congratulate ISPYthon “Come out, come out, wherever you are” by The Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board as the runner up and thank all who have contributed to citizen science in South Australia this year.

Citizen science is a way for everyday people who are passionate and curious about their surroundings to become involved in science. There’s a low barrier to entry and a high impact to be had on s identification fields.

Did you know there's actually a lot of science behind bubbles?

Recently we watched the Scientific Bubble Show as a part of National Science Week.

We learned how bubbles form in the first place, why they're spherical, and the real reason why they pop...

Beyond bubbles, there was still so much to do at National Science Week!
There were over 100 ways to get involved - in-person events, competitions and online activities.

National Science Week launched in South Australia with an explosive elephant toothpaste reaction!

We held the National Science Week launch at the South Australian Museum and the event was packed with people of all ages enjoying the exhibition booths, tours and live shows.

Thank you to Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC and Mr Rod Bunton for the excellent assistant work on stage and to Maddie Massy, the Ambassador for National Science Week in South Australia, for orchestrating the incredible launch. Maddie also spent the week bringing the wonderful events happening throughout South Australia during National Science Week into the spotlight.

Thank you to the South Australian Mueum for putting on such an amazing event.
