Important Announcement – Spring Spectacular Postponed

Dear Racers, Spectators and Valued Sponsors,

After several meetings and much careful consideration, the Adelaide Speedboat Club Committee has had to make an extremely difficult decision to postpone the Spring Spectacular to a new date in Autumn which will be Friday 30th of April, Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd of May.

This decision has not been made lightly. We understand how much time, effort and preparation goes into planning for a major event like the Spring Spectacular, and we know this news will be disappointing to many of you.

Unfortunately, the number of nominations received across all racing classes has been lower than anticipated, making it increasingly difficult to justify proceeding with the event as planned.

We also recognise the significant financial pressures facing everyone at the moment. With rising fuel prices, increasing interest rates and travel costs that have, in many cases, doubled since last year, we understand that attending race meetings is becoming increasingly difficult and expensive for racers, teams, spectators and their families.

As a club, we have a responsibility to carefully consider the financial viability of our events and ensure we make responsible decisions that protect the future of the Adelaide Speedboat Club. While postponing the Spring Spectacular is a disappointing outcome, we believe moving the event to Autumn will give us an opportunity to regroup, reassess and work towards delivering the successful event that our racers, supporters and sponsors deserve.

We would like to sincerely thank all our racers, spectators, sponsors, officials, volunteers and supporters for your ongoing commitment to the club and to the sport of powerboat racing. Your support means a great deal to us, and we do not take it for granted.

We appreciate your understanding, patience and continued support during this difficult decision. We look forward to seeing everyone back on the water and working together to make the rescheduled Spring Spectacular a great success.

Thank you for standing with the Adelaide Speedboat Club.

Kind regards,

The Committee

Here's the course layout for R4 of the Offshore Superboat Championships - Australia at Largs Bay in Port Adelaide in two weeks, the course moving slightly further south this year providing for great viewing opportunities at Semaphore jjetty and also Largs Jetty. See the boats up close from their base at the Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia, it promises to be a fantastic weekend (09-10 May) 👊🇦🇺🏁 Symons Clark Logistics
