As special guest, we've rather spontaneously invited 𝗦𝗼𝗳𝗶 𝗡𝗮𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗹 to hop on the line up on Saturday. We're trying do a little pop up situation, but first need to inspect the venue tomorrow 👁️

After being blown away by her performance at most honourable Hitness Club in Leipzig, her travelling plans and our plans lined up and there we have it 😌

She's creating an immensely intimate and somewhat intricate soundscape using a prepared guitar, her voice, loops and whatever object is available.

Really happy that this worked out 🫶

Post-punk/no wave oddity Geo are like a sentient slot machine: whatever seems happenstance is actually by design, and the more mismatched the moving parts appear, the more their music starts to make sense. Since the Groningen quartet’s inception in 2019, they have built a framework of skeletal agit-funk, cartoonish chromatics and neoteric art punk vignettes – sketching negative spaces where chaos and cacophony can sound perplexingly catchy.

KONOMONO potentially means a small dish of sauerkraut—spicy, yet delicate. Founded in 2024, the five-piece band from Zurich cooks up Krautrock grooves with a touch of nostalgic dream-pop and shoegaze, creating a colorful soundscape that captures the pure joy of playing music and delving into another dimension together. For those who love: Kikagaku Moyo, Stereolab & Slowdive!

The Stuttgart-based band Flora sounds as if it had been catapulted straight from the late-’80s indie scene—centered around labels like Sarah Records—into the here and now. The quartet, led by the eponymous singer Flora, lavishes listeners with an almost extravagant array of flawless pop songs. For example, their 2023 EP Time Stops already featured melodies that immediately burned themselves into the memories of receptive listeners with somnambulistic precision.

About 30 years ago, bands like The Ladybug Transistor and Camera Obscura were already working on a similarly disarming pop sound. In the spring of 2026, Flora released her debut album, Five Years (Treibender Teppich Records), on which she—following in this tradition—continues to refine the perfect pop song.

The history of Americana in Leipzig is a short one. For a long time, nothing happened. Then: The Zoomies came. That said, on their debut tape Carbonated Soft Drinks from 2023, the Zoomies – musician Maxim Tschernych’s labour of love – still sounded like a mishmash of new wave influences, somewhere between Jack J., Bowie and Ween.

But now, at last, the logical, slightly crackly turn towards Americana – rewinding pop history on VHS tape – or, to be more precise, towards the rock-pop side of things, where ‘country’ or ‘folk’ aren’t dirty words, where Harry Nilsson once penned his songs, where Alex G lives today, and from where MJ Lendermann can also sing a little ditty. So this is where the Zoomies hang out too.

Thanks to our dear friend for taking care of the booking and happy to see familiar faces from Leipzig again 🫶

Yes! Dancing! Closing off the Festival as the last act on Saturday are The Homesick.

The Homesick are an adventurous Dutch trio that blends styles like post-punk, krautrock, new wave, and experimental pop with a fearless curiosity and abandon.
Dogma-eschewing yet restlessly romantic, Jaap van der Velde, Elias Elgersma and Erik Woudwijk have reinvented themselves several albums over; from the rousing debut LP Youth Hunt to the more baroque-inspired Sub Pop-released breakthrough LP The Big Exercise. On the post-pandemic, independently released third LP The Homesick, the trio melted down their wide net of references into something more sleek and pulse-driven.

On the band’s fourth album What’s up with all these Shangri-Las?, out on Siluh Records, The Homesick have forged their own highly inventive, and ceaselessly fun version of club music in the span of 10 tracks.

Experimental Folk/Slacker Trad

We still can’t quite believe that we have Milkweed playing at our Festival. One of the most interesting bands coming out of the UK at the moment. We honestly do not know what to expect at the show - the more excited we are 🫶

Milkweed describe their sound as slacker-trad, which is both true and somehow insufficient. For three years Milkweed have refined a formula – taking existing source material (a folklore journal, a book on Welsh myths, another on bronze age human remains and most recently Thomas Kinsella’s masterfully stark translation of the Táin Bó Cúailnge), cutting up the words and feeding them through a woodchipper of lo-fi production and experimental folk music.

On the face of it their musical concerns are transatlantic – they follow the rich creative line that runs between British traditional music and the songs and tunes of the eastern United States. In reality their scope is global, and rooted in deep time, with influences from prehistory bleeding into a troubled and troubling modern era. As a result their music doesn’t sit easily anywhere, but ricochets between bewitching folk music and disconcerting hauntological experimentation.

Post-Punk/Noise-Rock

Another band that has shaken the city when they played a Siluh Soirée @ Kollektiv Kaorle a few years ago. What a fantastic show that was - and only the beginning.

With their outstanding debut PRICE OF PROGRESS, SMILE light-footedly demonstrate that post-punk can still sound refreshing in 2023.

They don’t take their references as dogma, remaining experimental and headstrong. Narrative, catchy, rough and cuddly, the subtle, poetic observations of singer Rubee True Fegan (USA) merge with the accomplished sound of a band that producer Olaf Opal has put exactly where it belongs: on the starting block of innovative, intelligent and sensual guitar music. PRICE OF PROGRESS manifests the interplay of musical Sturm und Drang and the maturity of a reflective narrative perspective.

A new album is coming up next year on Siluh Records!
