So many couples say yes to this now, and for good reason. Maybe your hometown feels a little boring, maybe you’re mixing nationalities with families spread across the world, or maybe visa reasons simply make it easier for everyone. Most of our couples end up going destination, and it’s always wonderful.

But if you do, here’s what makes it magic. A relaxed welcome party the night before to break the ice, and a farewell brunch the morning after so no one has to rush their goodbyes. These are often everyone’s favourite moments of the whole trip.

Then, take the stress off your guests. Help with where to stay, block rooms together for a group discount, and keep everyone close so it’s easy for you and fun for them. Most of your guests are visiting for the first time, so give them a little itinerary, where to eat, what to see, how to get around, and help the ones who want to stay on for a holiday. As planners, we handle all of this.

And the important one: add a simple Q&A to your wedding website, dress code, timings, travel, weather. Your guests feel looked after, your phone stops buzzing, and your planner can be the point of contact for every question.

After years of luxury weddings across Dubai, Vienna and beyond, these are the quiet things that quietly earn my full respect. And funnily enough, they’re always the couples with the most beautiful weddings.

🌟 Making sure your suppliers are fed and get five minutes to sit down. How you treat the team behind the scenes tells me everything, and those couples always have the warmest weddings.

🌟 Planning around your guests’ comfort. The shade, the water, the fans, the shuttle. Nobody notices when it’s done right, but everyone feels it. That is what real luxury is.

Real talk for my fellow planners (and my brides, I want your take too) 🤍

15 years in events, a master’s in event planning, and I’m still wrestling with this one: how do you offer coordination AND full planning without coordination quietly eating you alive?

Because lately, every “yes” to coordination somehow means the couple uses all of our full-planning resources, our vendors, our knowledge, our time, for a fraction of the price. And I’m a recovering people-pleaser, so saying no is hard. But the math just isn’t mapping anymore.

So I’m asking honestly. Planners: do you still offer coordination, and how do you protect your time? Brides: why would you choose coordination over full planning? What’s your honest take?

Things a luxury planner actually buys from Temu 🤍 (and what we’d never).

Controversial? Maybe. But here’s the honest truth: even at a luxury wedding, some of the most-loved little details are inexpensive finds. The skill isn’t spending the most, it’s knowing exactly where to save and where to never, ever compromise.

So the finds we love are the ones that lift the fun and the getting-ready moments: a pretty ring box, bride slippers and “wifey” shoe stickers, vow books, wedding games and advice cards, personalised fans for the heat, an audio guestbook telephone, custom welcome signage, favour boxes, personalised napkins, a matchbox keepsake, a flower girl basket. The touches your guests smile at and take home.

And the things we would never source cheaply? The design itself. Florals, linens, tableware, glassware, lighting, anything your guests can touch and judge. That stays premium, always, because that’s the part you actually feel when you walk into the room.

Midnight snack ideas for your wedding 🤍🍕

By hour five, everyone has danced, cried a happy tear, and is suddenly starving. Late-night snacks are the detail your guests will not stop talking about, and the easiest way to make the night feel completely you.

A few of our favourites: cup noodles, pizza, sliders, popcorn, soft pretzels, tacos, hot dogs, sushi, and even fish and chips.

The best ones are always personal. Your 3am order, your comfort food, the thing that makes everyone go „of course they served this.“ That is the bite people remember long after the last dance.

Wedding food, everything I’d tell you as your planner 🤍 (7/100)

The food is what your guests remember most, so here’s how to think about it.

Canapés come first, usually after the ceremony while you’re taking photos. Then the main meal, and you have four styles: a buffet is the most budget-friendly, family-style sharing is the cosy middle, live cooking stations elevate a buffet, and a plated set menu is the most luxurious.

My honest take on dessert: a full dessert table and a wedding cake afterwards is too much. Pick one.

And please do late-night snacks. Pizza, kebabs, or something personal like your McDonald’s order or cup noodles. It’s always a hit.

Three things couples forget: ask guests about allergies and give the venue your exact seating plan, remember that set menus often need a meat or fish pre-selection so ask in advance, and always do a tasting.

One more, because I keep getting this question: most hotel venues do not allow outside caterers. Before you book, check what cuisine they offer and how flexible they are, and don’t confirm anything until you do. The upside is that most will let you bring small special items with a waiver. We’ve seen pirozhki, arancini, beautiful little touches from every culture 🤍

Dubai wedding venues for an intimate day, with the real minimum spends 🤍

I shared my favourite small-wedding venues about one year ago and it’s still one of my most saved posts, so here is the 2026 refresh, expanded and with honest numbers.

First, the thing most couples don’t know: „minimum spend“ is not a venue hire fee. It’s the least you agree to spend on food and drinks. A few of these charge a flat rental instead, which I’ve marked on the slides. Knowing the difference can genuinely save you thousands.

One honest caveat: these are preliminary costs from a usual first inquiry. Your final cost always depends on your date, guest count and concept.

They run from 20,000 AED at Vida Creek Harbour all the way up to the statement settings like Aura Sky Pool at 150,000 AED, so there’s something here whether you want understated and pretty or full five-star drama. All of these are lovely for a smaller, intimate day, and most can comfortably host more too.
